Compliance Review activity picks up...
After a six-month lull, Banks' Compliance
Review report business has recently picked up momentum. Much of
this increased business is acquisition related especially in the oil
patch. Joe Gonzalez, Director of Environmental Services at Banks says,
the force driving this business activity, is the continued divestiture
of oil and gas properties by the major oil and gas companies
Joe’s
research staff is currently reviewing records at the
Railroad Commission of Texas, the Texas Commission on Environmental
Quality, and other agencies for a number of new multi-well acquisition
projects. Banks’ standard Compliance
Review identifies issues that cannot normally be found in the typical
ASTM database search for most Phase I site assessment reports. We recommend
that a Compliance Review be conducted before all purchases or sales
of pipelines, chemical facilities, oil and gas properties, manufacturing
facilities, gas processing plants and refineries. Simple due diligence
before the transaction can usually prevent costly litigation after the
sale.
A standard compliance review normally takes between four and six hours.
Research time varies with the number of facilities requested, issues
to research, and documents to review and retrieve.

Record
2003 and Expecting more in 2004...

for 2003. With December still to go, Banks' 2003 FirstSearch sales have
already exceeded 2002 FirstSearch sales by 63%!
With
an enhanced version of Environmental FirstSearch coming out soon, combined
with new services such as our FirstSearch Digital Data and lowered Out-of-State
Aerial pricing, we expect another record year of FirstSearch sales in
2004.

in action at a Fortune 500 Company...
Waste Management (www.wm.com)
is North America's leading provider of comprehensive waste management
services for over 22 million customers. This past summer, Waste Management
informed Banks that they needed a customized ASTM database search product.
They were having trouble getting the information they needed on specific
facilities across the country using other database search firms. Waste
Management needed a product that allowed them to search ASTM databases
for a facility defined by zip code, city, or state. They needed a solution
that provided specific site details on each found record, one that was
quick, cost effective, and accurate.

This is so overused that it’s almost become a cliché –

as you did on the original request, simply select ‘Search List’
from the top toolbar of the target site screen. This function allows
you to choose any previously entered requests, making it quick and easy
